The renowned South African composer Trevor Jones, author of iconic soundtracks such as those of The last Mohican, Excalibur y Dentro del laberinto, will attend the eighth edition of SONAFILM, the International Film Festival of Music de Filmmaking Marina Alta. Jones will participate as a special guest in "The Age of Empires," the closing concert to be held on Saturday August 22 at 23:00h in the Plaça de Bous d'Ondara, closing a festival dedicated to epic and historical cinema that will take place in various towns in the region.

Trevor Jones, born in Cape Town in 1949He has been nominated several times for BAFTA and Golden Globe awards for his musical career. After training in South Africa, he consolidated his education. in the United Kingdom, studying at institutions such as the Royal Academy of Music and the National Film and Television School.

SONAFILM 8: The music of the great cinematic epics

The eighth edition of SONAFILM, dedicated to epic and historical cinema, will be held from July 31th al August 22th, XNUMXIt will take place in the towns of Ondara, DéniaCalp, Beniarbeig, XàbiaPego and Teulada Moraira.

The closing concert, "The Age of Empires," will offer a journey through different forms of cinematic epic. The Universal Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of José Martínez Colomina, will perform a repertoire that will include music from Ben-Hur, Troy, The last Samurai y Gladiator in the first part. The second part will expand the journey with the soundtrack of 1492: The Conquest of Paradise, by Vangelis, culminating with two fundamental works by Trevor Jones: Excalibur y The last Mohican.
