Calp has taken another significant step in consolidating its position as an accessible tourist destination. A total of 50 businesses Local businesses have received the 'We are' certificate Tourism 'Accessible', a distinction that certifies its facilities and services adapted for all people. The award ceremony was held in the Plaza Mayor of Calp, as part of the FiraCalp program, and was attended by the Councilor for Tourism Planning, Mireia Ripoll, and the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Rebeca Merchán, the president of AEMCO, Santi Ferrer, and Sandra Dobal, representing ADICALP (Association of People with Disabilities of Calp).
Growth in the supply of tailored services
This is the second time these certificates have been awarded to companies in Calp. The previous year, 17 establishments, mainly accommodations tourist and the two Calp tourist officesThe following establishments, including the tourist information point at La Fossa beach, have already received this distinction for meeting accessibility criteria. Now, the following are being added to this list: 50 businesses mostly restaurants and some shops.

Collaboration for inclusive and sustainable tourism
The 'We Are Accessible Tourism' distinction, promoted by Equalitas Vitae, aims to recognize businesses that meet accessibility criteria, making it easier for people with specific needs to identify adapted spaces. All certified establishments become part of the Equalitas Vitae Accessible Calpe Tourist Destination, a platform that provides detailed, descriptive, and objective information about the accessibility of each tourist resource.
This initiative is part of the project of Development and raising awareness of inclusive and accessible tourism. This project is included in Calp's Tourism Sustainability Destination Plan (PSTD), within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), and is funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU.
