The Ministry of Education The regional government has called a new extraordinary meeting of the Sectoral Committee for this Friday, June 5th, at 14:00 PM, at a particularly delicate moment in the Valencian education conflict. The meeting comes after several days of stalled negotiations between the regional administration and the unions, which are maintaining the indefinite teachers' strike, accompanied by various demonstrations and protests in numerous municipalities and areas of the Valencian Community.
The last direct meeting between the two sides took place on Sunday, May 31st, while outside, during a teachers' demonstration, a National Police officer was involved in a highly controversial incident in which he pushed a protester, who was injured in the ensuing intervention. Since then, the two sides remain far apart and no significant progress has been made.
The new Sectoral Committee will be held just 24 hours after the Ministry has outlined in a press release the educational budgets for 2026, accounts that the department led by Carmen Ortí considers "that place Valencian families at the center of all public policies."
Education will have 7.749 billion euros in 2026
According to data provided by the Ministry, the Education area, Culture y Universities will have a budget in 2026 of 7.749 millones de euros, which supposes 450 million more than in 2025 and an increase of 6,2%, they point out. The Ministry also maintains that the Valencian Community is among the autonomous communities with the highest educational investment per student, reaching 7.600 euros per student, a figure that, according to the administration, exceeds the state average by 19%.
The salary increase agreed with CSIF and ANPE now has a budget allocation.
One of the most significant aspects of the announcement is the inclusion in the Generalitat's accounts of the necessary funding to implement the pay increase recently agreed upon with the CSIF and ANPE unions. The budgets allocate more than 22 million euros in 2026 to begin the gradual implementation of the salary increase contemplated in the agreement.

However, this remains one of the main points of disagreement with STEPV, CCOO, and UGT, who consider the economic proposal insufficient and continue to demand a broader recovery of the purchasing power lost in recent years. For this reason, the three unions have repeatedly requested that negotiations on this aspect of the agreement be reopened.

Educational inclusion and support for families
The Ministry also announced an increase in resources allocated to inclusive education.
