The strong winds recorded during yesterday afternoon and evening caused multiple incidents in different parts of the municipality of Calp, which were attended to by the Local police and the forces of Civil Protection.
Among the damages caused by the weather event were the following: fallen trees, fences, streetlights and traffic signsThis forced a rapid intervention by emergency services to ensure public safety.
Scaffolding moved on Europa Avenue
The most significant incident of the day occurred in the Europa Avenuewhere the strong wind caused the movement of a scaffold installed in the Talima building, generating a Potential risk of falling onto the public road.
Given the dangerous nature of the situation, the Calp Local Police proceeded to street closure to prevent the passage of vehicles and pedestrians, while the condition of the affected structure was being assessed.
Firefighters intervened and a controlled demolition took place.
