The Calp City Council launched end of March A state-of-the-art outdoor gym with variable-load weights at the municipal sports facilities, next to the Blue Court (Pista Blava), which has been used by more than 2.000 users in its first month of operation. This initiative, with an investment of 125.719 EurosThis positions Calp as one of the few spaces of this kind available in Spain.
A new concept in outdoor training
The Department of Sports The Calpe Town Hall estimates that, since its opening, more than 2.000 people have enjoyed these facilities during the first month of operation, representing an average of approximately 80 users per dayThe outdoor gym is available for use during extended hours. 08 to 00 pm.
This innovative sports facility is designed for outdoor training for people of all ages and fitness levels. It is equipped with professional, adjustable-weight strength training machines.
The equipment includes:
- Chest press
- Back pull-up
- leg press
- Shoulder press
- Horizontal row
- Three-zone cross-training station
- Pull-up station
All the material is certified for outdoor installation and has protective casings that cover the moving parts, as well as safety systems that prevent entrapment and vandalism.
Technology at the service of sport
A key feature of this gym is its technological integration, as all the machines are connected to a dedicated mobile app. Users can access this app using a QR code located on the information panels throughout the facility.
The mobile application offers features such as:
- View demonstration videos of the exercises
- Monitoring of training plans adapted to different levels and objectives (fitness, weight loss, general strengthening, active work for seniors)
- Recording and saving of sessions for personalized routine planning
This action is part of Calp Town Council's commitment to continue improving municipal facilities, providing new spaces dedicated to recreational sports. Along the same lines, the Council has planned an additional investment of 80.000 Euros for the creation of a new facility intended for the practice of calisthenics and OCR circuit, which is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
