The town hall, the Club of Swimming Benissa and Club Náutico Les Basetes presented on Friday afternoon the first edition of the 'Entre cales' open water swimming event which will take place on July 3 at 9:00 a.m.
With this activity, the consistory seeks to continue activating the calendar of sporting events in Benissa that was slowed down by the pandemic. The route, of around 2.500 meters, will begin in Cala Baladrar, passing through Advocat, Llobella, Pinets and la Fustera and will end in Les Basetes, which will allow participants to enjoy a spectacular journey along the entire coastline of our municipality.
The councilor of SportsAdrián Cabrera wanted to highlight the joint work between the Swimming Club, the Les Basetes Nautical Club and the town council, emphasizing "the great effort of all the people behind the organization, contributing their knowledge, experience and time in a selfless and altruistic way."
The sports event can be seen on foot along the ecological walk
Mayor, Arthur PocketPoquet highlighted the unique nature of this event, which “will allow visitors and their companions to follow it on foot along the coastal promenade.” He also took the opportunity to acknowledge the boost given to the Benissa Activa project, which translates, among other things, into sporting events of this caliber. According to Poquet, this event “is just getting started, but it’s here to stay.”
The Sports Department has already begun initial talks with Tourism Benissa to include 'Entre cales' as one of the cornerstones of its promotional activity within the Natursport program.
In order to participate in the test, it will be necessary to register through the website somesport.com and it will cost € 20. The maximum number of registrants will be 150 people.
