La gastronomy The Marina Alta region continues its unstoppable growth. This March of 2026, right on the threshold of Easter, the Michelin Guide has updated its selection by adding two new names to its prestigious list of recommended places in the region. With the addition of Toy (Dénia) and Ca Aleix (Xàbia), the Marina Alta already has 19 culinary temples that are a must-see for residents and tourists this holiday period.
The Michelin Guide updates its most prized accolades, the Michelin Stars, every year. These distinctions are awarded to restaurants "that offer exceptional cuisine." restaurants in the Marina Alta with a Michelin Star in 2026 There are nine of them and between them they accumulate a total of 12 stars for the region.
The distinctions are awarded taking into account five criteria: «The quality of the ingredients, the harmony of the flavors, the mastery of the technique, the personality of the chef reflected through his cuisine and the regularity over time and proposal as a whole," explains the Guide. Every year, the entity reevaluates starred restaurants to revalidate their distinction, in addition to looking for new proposals.

Quique Dacosta is the gastronomic ambassador of the Marina Alta par excellence.
