Six months after the Central Government approved it, the second state of alarm of the pandemic comes to an end today. But so that this situation will not leave the communities unrestricted, the autonomous governments have announced new norms, protected by the Superior Courts, to be able to maintain some of the measures that, a priori, could only be sustained with a state of alarm.
In the case of the Community, it is one of the few communities (also the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands and the Basque Country that is awaiting the courts) that the Supreme Court has requested endorsement to maintain the curfew. So from today Valencians have limited mobility from 00h to 06h. Of course, the Community is open again after six months of perimeter closure, good news for the tourism and hospitality sector of the region.
Another measure that has come into effect today is the opening of bars and restaurants until 23:30 p.m., an hour and a half more than last week, which will allow hoteliers to offer a more complete and unhurried dinner service. In addition, the table capacity It is extended to 10 people and inside the premises it will be possible to have a capacity of 50% (until now it was 30%).
As for the clubs and cocktail bars They will only be able to open if, with the appropriate licenses, they prove that the tracks of ball The premises are occupied by tables and chairs since dancing and/or karaoke is prohibited.
Also social gatherings in public and private spaces they are expanded up to 10 people. In addition, places of worship may have a capacity of 75%. And in the case of events or celebrations that involve a concentration of people inside a premises, the maximum capacity will be 75% and 500 people.
The movie theaters, drive-ins, theaters and auditoriums They are also expanded to 75% but the obligation to be seated and the prohibition to consume are maintained.
Can you smoke outdoors? This is a question many citizens have, and the latest decree from the Generalitat answers it as follows: "Smoking will not be allowed in public streets, terraces, beaches or other open-air spaces, when the minimum interpersonal distance of at least 2 meters cannot be respected."
These new measures represent a relaxation in the restrictions that the Generalitat has been applying every two weeks in the Community. A slow but sure de-escalation to reach summer with the best possible figures.
Although the Consell asked the Supreme Court to endorse these measures until May 30, the court has only endorsed them, for the moment, until Monday, May 24.
