The Ocell Cultural Association, within the special programming for its 50 anniversary, projected last Friday July 3th At its headquarters in Ondara, the documentary directed and produced by Pau Soler addresses various aspects of the life, work and, especially, the person of the renowned artist Joan Castejón.
A journey through the life and art of Castejón
The documentary takes a comprehensive look at the evolution and different formal stages of Joan Castejón, including drawing, engraving, and sculpture and paintingIt is emphasized that his artistic development has always been intrinsically linked to an ethical stance, where the human being and his social circumstances have been the center and constant reference of his work.
In parallel, the report chronologically describes key stages and periods of his life, from his childhood in Elche to his imprisonment during the Franco regime due to his political stance. It also recounts his time in the Canary Islands, where he met his partner Paca, and the moment of his discovery of... Dénia, the city he chose to establish his residence.
