The Marina Alta region is not giving up: Pedreguer is filled with teachers and families in support of public education.

The Marina Alta region took to the streets again this Thursday, May 14th, in support of the indefinite teachers' strike and in defense of... education. quality public education. After the massive mobilization experienced in DéniaPedreguer hosted a new regional gathering marked by the support of families, teachers and other groups.

Picketing and information actions in Xàbia and Dénia

The actions began early in the morning with an information picket line in front of the IES Antoni Llidó school. Xàbiawhere teachers gathered continued to explain to faculty, students and families the reasons for the indefinite strike.

Subsequently, the teachers moved the protests to the local market of Xàbia, where they maintained direct contact with the citizens to convey the demands of the educational community and explain the situation that Valencian public schools are going through.

At noon, at 12:00, the Teachers also held a demonstration in front of the Xàbia Town Hall, within the schedule of mobilizations agreed by the teachers' assemblies of the Marina Alta.

In the afternoon, at the IES Historiador Chabàs in Dénia, teachers held pickets related to the 2nd year of Baccalaureate assessment.

Pedreguer focuses on defending public education

The day concluded at 19:00 p.m. with a rally in Pedreguer that once again brought together teachers, families, and residents from across the region in support of public education and the teachers' demands. The demonstration also had the backing of the local Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) and representatives from the leadership teams of schools in Pedreguer.

During the event, a manifesto was read by Lorena Cantó, from IES Pedreguer, who was accompanied by David Collado and Roser Ballester, members of the management teams of the CEIP l'Alfàs and El Trinquet.

The gathering once again demonstrated the support of the Marina Alta educational community for the indefinite strike and the protests promoted by the teachers.

The protests continue as unions and the regional education ministry maintain open negotiations, following the presentation of a preliminary education agreement by the regional government on Thursday. Despite the talks, the unions consider the proposals presented so far insufficient and are maintaining both the strike and the planned protests.
