The Serra de Segària will host the next 15 2026 Sunday of XNUMX a new edition of the Gegant de Pedra, which reaches its sixteenth editionThe test, organized by the Ondara Athletics Club in collaboration with Department of Sports from the Ondara Town HallIt combines hiking and mountain running in a natural environment of great scenic value.
The start and finish lines for all three events will be located next to the Rau river, in the Parc de Segària, under the area of the hostels, a venue that was already featured in the last edition and is being consolidated this year.
Three options for runners and hikers
The 16th Gegant de Pedra offers options for both runners and walkers. Participants can choose between a 20-kilometer half marathona whirlpool bath, 15 kilometer test for runners or a 15-kilometer hiking routewhich can be done by walking or running at a free pace.
The routes, which remain the same as the previous edition, allow you to complete the complete return to the Serra de Segària In the case of the 15-kilometer races, passing through locations such as the Cova Fosca, the Parc del Verger, the Font de CatalàBenimeli, Pouets and the Beniarbeig Mine, before returning to the starting point.
Half marathon
The 20-kilometer race retains some of the most demanding and symbolic sections of the Gegant de Pedra, such as the ascent to Bolumini and the Portell de Beniarbeig, in addition to the passage through the Poblat ÍberThe route runs entirely along mountain paths and trails, without using any sections of asphalt, which also facilitates access for participants to the designated parking areas.
During the route, the athletes will cross the municipal boundaries of Ondara, The Verger, Rafol de Almunia, Mineli y Beniarbeig.
Marina Trail Circuit
The 16th Gegant de Pedra is included in the VIII Marina Trail Circuita calendar made up of 14 races which are contested in several municipalities in the Marina Alta and Marina Baixa regions, such as Vall de Gallinera, Xaló, Gata de Gorgos, Calp, Callosa d'en Sarrià, Polop de la Marina, Pedreguer, and Orba, among others. The circuit began in September 2025 and will conclude in May 2026.
Schedules, registration and prices
The start of the half marathon (20 km) is scheduled for 8 pmThe 15-kilometer race for runners will start at 9 pm and the hiking group will do so at 9 pm.
