During these Christmas holidays, the pilota has not stopped rolling and the Municipal Pilota School of Ondara, coordinated by Juanma Garrido and trained by Raül Blasco and Marc Terrades, has achieved magnificent results in the one wall and fronton couples competitions, as well as a first place as individual regional champion in fronton for men under 10, Ernest Garcés.
In the onewall couples category, the final regional phase of onewall for couples (postponed by Dana) was held last Saturday, January 4, 2025, in the Agost pavilion. The Ondara Pelota School managed to qualify three couples: the benjamins Lluís Avellà and Ernest Garcés; the alevines Vicent Molines and Andreu Frasés; and the children Àngel Sendra and Dídac Chesa; with excellent results: first classified in the children's region (Àngel Sendra and Dídac Chesa), second classified in the benjamin region (Lluís Avellà and Ernest Garcés) and sixth classified in the alevine region (Vicent Molines and Andreu Frasés).
On the other hand, to say goodbye to the year 2024, on Saturday, December 21, the regional doubles fronton finals were held at the Vinalesa fronton courts. Ernest Garcés and Lluís Avellà had qualified for Ondara, in the Benjamín category. They played two spectacular games. Finally, and after giving it their all, the result was very positive, managing to be regional runners-up in the Benjamín category.
Also, in individual fronton, on Sunday December 15 in the frontons of Dénia The regional finals of individual men's fronton were held. From the Municipal Pelota School of Ondara, Ernest Garcés in the Benjamín category and Arnau Mas in the Juvenile category reached the regional final. Arnau was unable to play due to injury (finishing fourth place in the regional championship), while Ernest played three brilliant games with a spectacular level of play, becoming the new individual Benjamin regional champion of fronton.
The councilor of Sports Jordi Ruiz, from Ondara, congratulated the young pelota players of the Ondara Municipal Pelota School and their coaches for the successes achieved this season in the onewall and fronton modalities, and encouraged them for the upcoming competitions.
