The local Civil Protection group of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell received a significant donation of technical equipment this week from the group of ball Local Pam's Dance Fitness Ladies. The donation includes special safety uniforms for chainsaw use and a defibrillator simulator, with the aim of improving the protection of volunteers in their forest fire prevention tasks and their Development continues in emergency situations.
The donation, valued at 200 EurosIt consists of two special uniforms for pine felling: a full-body suit and trousers. These are advanced safety garments, specifically designed for chainsaw use, incorporating inner layers of high-strength fibers. In the event of accidental contact with the moving chain, these fibers instantly unravel and become entangled in the transmission sprocket, blocking the machine in fractions of a second and preventing serious injury to the operator.
This equipment will be extremely useful for Civil Protection volunteers. In emergency or dangerous situations, the team carries out targeted pine forest clearing, especially after the severe drought of two years ago. With these cut-resistant suits, they will be able to safely remove trees that pose a risk of falling onto roads, as well as clear pine forest areas to prevent the risk of forest fires.
Continuing education in emergencies
In addition to the forestry gear, the dance group has donated a simulator defibrillator. This device will be used for the group's ongoing training, allowing volunteers to perform practical exercises identical to real emergency situations to perfect their cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques in a completely safe manner.
This donation adds to a list of recurring citizen contributions that help improve the resources available to volunteers. These include the Heimlich maneuver vest, previously donated by this same group, the evacuation chair from neighbors Hermann and Angelika, the emergency screens from the Teulada Moraira Lions Club, and the water pump from the Benitachell International Neighborhood Association (AVIB), among others.
