The Pacte'MA Governing Council held its last meeting 29 June their first working session of the year 2026 in the plenary hall of the City Hall of PedreguerThe municipality that holds the capital status of Creama. During this meeting, the organization promoted new strategic lines that seek to strengthen economic development and employment of quality in the Marina Alta, reaffirming its commitment to economic diversification and regional cooperation.
The session was well represented, including most of the 32 municipalities integrated into the Regional Agreement for Employment. Also in attendance were social and economic stakeholders such as CCOO l'Alacantí-Les Marines and CEV, the territorial director of Labora, Cortes Martínez de las Heras, and the mayor of Pedreguer, Sergi FerrusThe mayor of [location] presided over the meeting. During the meeting, the Governing Council addressed the main territorial development projects promoted by the regional agreement. Attendees unanimously approved all items on the agenda, including the minutes of the previous session and the project's priority lines of action. Industry OccupiesThis approval was granted after the presentation of the results of the Diagnosis of the Industrial Sector of the Marina Alta.
Economic development and opportunities
This diagnosis identifies the main challenges and opportunities of the regional industry, constituting an essential roadmap for developing actions that promote business competitiveness and boost the Development and attracting talent to the area. The debate generated on this point has highlighted the consensus on the need to move towards a more diversified economic model.
In this regard, the importance of strengthening the role of industry has been highlighted, while still recognizing the relevance of the tourism sector as engine economic impact on the region. The session also highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between educational institutions and the companies, in order to adapt vocational training to the needs of the local production sector.
Within the framework of the new initiatives, the Governing Council also approved the preparation and presentation of a project to participate in future aid of the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFF). Furthermore, Pacte'MA's accession to the Living Alliance of the Marina Alta, an initiative that seeks to promote territorial cooperation and sustainable development of the region.
During the session, detailed information was provided on the technical and economic justification for the first year of the Territorial Projects 2025-2026These projects, developed by Creama in its role as Technical Secretariat of Pacte'MA, are fundamental to the implementation of the defined strategies.
Finally, the Governing Council unanimously approved the proposal to organize a Regional Job Fair. This initiative, promoted in collaboration with the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP), aims to bring job opportunities and career guidance resources closer to all residents of the Marina Alta region. The Fair represents an important step in connecting residents with the job market.
With this meeting, Pacte'MA continues to solidify its position as the main coordination forum for promoting employment policies, economic development, and territorial cohesion in the region. This achievement is based on the collaborative work of public administrations, business and labor organizations, and the other entities that are part of this regional agreement.
