Program of Patron Saint Festivities of Gata de Gorgos Santíssim Crist del Calvari 2026

Gata de Gorgos begins its parties patron saints in honor of Santíssim Crist del Calvari from July 27 to August 6To this end, the 2026 Festival Committee has collaborated with the Town Council to develop a comprehensive program of events. Shows and varied activities to cater to different tastes and audiences.

Saturday 18 July

• 22: 00 hours: Gathering in Nova Square of the children's and adults' 2026 graduating class, as well as representatives of the 2025 graduating class, visiting festival participants, local authorities and residents to go to the School Group accompanied by the Colla Montgó Benimussa, Banda de Coda and the Banda Unión Musical de Gata.
• 23: 00 hours: Presentation of the 2026 children's group ELS ALOCATS and the 2026 senior group L'ANRAMÀ. Following this, we will proceed with the proclamation of the 2026 officers. During the event, there will be a performance by the Municipal School of... Dance from Gata. Afterwards, we will have a performance by the MATRIX BAND orchestra until the early hours of the morning.

From July 19 to 26

• 20: 00 hours: Novena to the Most Holy Christ of Calvary.

Sunday July 26

• 20: 00 hours: A parade with dulzaina and tabal music, organized by the 2026 Commission and the older and younger members of the town's youth group, will wind through the decorated streets. During the parade, a jury will award prizes for the best-decorated street.

Monday July 27

• 20: 00 hours: A gathering will take place at the Hermitage of Calvary for the 2025 graduating class (both children and adults) and the general public for the novena and Mass. The insignia of the Holy Christ will be presented to the graduating class, the adults, and the 2026 Festival Committee. Afterwards, the procession of the Descent of the Holy Christ from Calvary will take place, accompanied by the Montgó-Benimussa group and the Unió Musical de Gata band. Following this, in the church square, the bells will ring out to signal the arrival of the Holy Christ in the church. A fireworks display will then follow, featuring a pyrotechnic display with a burst of colors.

Tuesday, July 28th. Opening Day

• 10: 30 hours: Gathering of carts and horses in Enric Valor Park.
• 11: 00 hours: Entrance of the Murta with the participation of the older and younger members of the group and all the people who want to participate, accompanied by the Colla Montgó Benimussa.
• 13: 00 hours: A general ringing of bells and twenty-one salutes remind us that the Holy Christ is in the church and GATA IS CELEBRATING.
• 17: 00 hours: 1st and 2nd qualifying rounds of the TRUC World Championship, organized by the 2027 commission in the Enric Valor park.
• 20: 00 hours: A gathering of young men and women celebrating their 20th birthday, along with local social clubs and the general public, will take place in Plaza Nova, featuring live music from the brass bands XARANGATA and GARAXA. The 2026 organizing committee will be distributing a selection of cured meats, nuts, and anise liqueur. Beer will be served freely, sponsored by Francisco Tomás e Hijos.
• 21: 00 hours: We'll all go together to the Town Hall to officially begin the festivities with the opening speech by Sílvia Leyda Fornes and Vicen Mulet Ferrer, along with local authorities. Afterwards, we'll continue the celebration in Enric Valor Park.
• 22: 30 hours: Potluck dinner in Enric Valor Park. The 2026 committee will be serving beer. Wine sponsored by Bodega XÀLO.
• 00: 00 hours: Performance by BATISJAUS with the best Pop-Rock ever and DJ MOISES CARDONA and DJ WIBA until the sun comes up.

Wednesday, July 29th. Opening Day

• 07: 00 hours: 1th Awakening by the Quintà 2026 L'ANRAMÀ.
• 08: 00 hours: Entrance of bulls and cows by the local livestock CRISTIAN SOLER and afterwards release of cows from the same livestock.
• 09: 30 hours: The 2026 committee will distribute cocas and beer to all attendees.
• 13: 00 hours: Bous a Banda in the bull bar with the MALECÓN group sponsored by the 2026 commission.
• 18: 00 hours: Official opening of the circle enlivened by the Batukada Gatukada and Xarangata accompanied by the older and younger members of the community, peñas and the town in general.
• 19: 30 hours: Release of cows and bull from the LA HERMANDAD ranch Xàbia.
• 22: 00 hours: Official opening of the fairground booths at the school complex and dinner. It is recommended to come in your opening attire to enjoy the Rebujito (a sherry-based cocktail) that the 2026 committee will be serving. Prizes will be awarded to the best-decorated booths.
• 00: 00 hours: Spectacular performance by the MONACO PARTY orchestra until 5 a.m.

Thursday, July 30th. Paella Day

• 08: 00 hours: 2th Awakening by the fifth 2026 L'ANRAMÀ.
• 13: 00 hours: Bous a banda en el bareto de los toros a cargo del grupo PLANET 8 sponsored by the 2026 commission.
• 18: 00 hours: In the tent at Enric Valor Park, a children's show sponsored by the Provincial Council of Alicante.
• 19: 00 hours: Entrance of 10 BULLS from the La Paloma de Xaló ranch.
• 19: 15 hours: Release of cows and bull by the Gregorio de Jesús de Sueca livestock farm.
• 22: 00 hours: Paella competition at the school. The 2026 committee will award a prize for the best paella made on the premises. Entertainment provided by the Xaranga Toca't un ou band.
• 00: 00 hours: Spectacular performance by the LA FLAMA orchestra until 5 a.m.

Friday, July 31. Festigata

• 08: 00 hours: 3th Awakening by the fifth 2026 L'ANRAMÀ.
• 11: 00 hours: Fun and refreshing water park on the Alicante promenade run by Espectacles L'afió and foam party.
• 13: 00 hours: Bous a banda en el bareto de los toros a cargo del GRUPO Ñ sponsored by the 2026 commission.
• 17: 00 hours: 3rd and 4th qualifying rounds of the TRUC World Championship in Enric Valor Park.
• 19: 00 hours: Entrance of bulls and cows from the Cristian Soler livestock farm in Gata de Gorgos.
• 19: 15 hours: Release of cows and bull by the Fdo. Machancoses livestock farm of Cheste.
• 22: 00 hours: Dinner in the barracks.
• 23: 00 hours: Children's Cordà by PIROTECNIA BORREDÀ on Moreres street for boys and girls between 8 and 16 years old who have the CRE card.
• 23: 30 hours: FESTIGATA with performances by DJ CABARAFOTUDA, ROMÀNTIC DIMONI and SANDRA MONFORT.

Saturday, August 1st. Quintadas Day

• 08: 00 hours: 4th Awakening by the Quintà 2026 L'ANRAMÀ.
• 10: 00 hours: Solemn mass for all the young people of the town turning 18.
• 13: 00 hours: Bous a Banda by the LOLIPOP group sponsored by the 2026 commission.
• 18: 00 hours: Performance by CAPITAL 90 and DJ until 24:00 on the Alicante promenade.
• 19: 30 hours: Holy Mass.
• 22: 00 hours: Dinner in the barracks.
• 23: 30 hours: Performance by the group Sweet SoultZ at the School Group.

Sunday, August 2nd. Float Day

• 08: 00 hours: 5th Awakening by the Quintà 2026 L'ANRAMÀ.
• 10: 00 hours: Chess Championship Fiestas 2026 at the CSI sponsored by the Department of Sports From the Gata de Gorgos Town Hall. Prizes sponsored by the 2026 committee.
• 12: 00 hours: Holy Mass.
• 13: 00 hours: Bous a banda en el bareto de los toros con la grupo REMAKE sponsored by the 2026 commission.
• 19: 00 hours: A gathering of floats and walking groups will take place on the school grounds. This will be followed by a grand parade of floats enlivened by brass bands, Colla Montgó Benimussa, Batukada Gatukada, and the Banda Unión Musical de Gata.

• 23: 00 hours: A spectacular performance by the group AVALANX PROJECT from Menorca with an electroacoustic show that will leave us speechless.
• 01: 30 hours: A grand fire run (Correfoc) featuring the show “The Purge” by the Colla de Dimonis de Mislata. It will begin on Calle la Pau and end on the Paseo de Alicante with a spectacular finale.
• 02: 30 hours: Release of cows and bull by the Els Coves de Pedreguer livestock farm.

Monday, August 3rd. Costume Day and Children's Day

• 08: 00 hours: 6th Awakening by the fifth 2026 L'ANRAMÀ.
• 10: 30 hours: The children's group ELS ALOCATS gathers in Plaça Nova for the despertà (wake-up call). Each child brings their own noise-making implement.
• 11: 30 hours: Inflatables and a magic show at the CSI for the little ones. Afterwards, the committee will provide food for the children's group ELS ALOCATS.
• 13: 00 hours: Bous a banda en el bareto de los toros a cargo del grupo MONROE BAND ROCK sponsored by the 2026 commission.
• 18: 00 hours: Entrance and release of carts for all children. Afterwards, lemonade will be distributed to the youngest children, sponsored by “CA EL TRAMUSSER”.
• 19: 00 hours: Entrance of 10 red and spotted animals by the Els Coves livestock farm sponsored by KIROS GATA.
• 19: 15 hours: Release of cows and bull by the La Paloma de Xaló livestock farm.
• 22: 00 hours: Dinner in the barracks.
• 23: 30 hours: A gathering of costumed revelers will take place in Plaza Nova, where a parade will begin towards the School Group, accompanied by GATUKADA and Xaranga L'EMBOLIC.
• 00: 00 hours: Performance by the LA VIVA orchestra and DJ until 5:30 in the morning.

Tuesday, August 4th. Bull Day

• 08: 00 hours: 7th Awakening by the Quintà 2026 L'ANRAMÀ.
• 09: 00 hours: Entrance of bulls and cows by the Cristian Soler livestock farm of Gata de Gorgos and afterwards release of cows from the same farm.
• 13: 00 hours: Bous a banda en el bareto de los toros a cargo del grupo LOS CIGÜEÑOS sponsored by the 2026 commission.
• 17: 00 hours: Semifinals and final of the TRUC World Championship in Enric Valor Park.
• 18: 00 hours: Entrance Transhumance of tame animals, exit from Doctor Moratal street to the corral.
• 19: 00 hours: Entrance of steers and horses, starting from Doctor Moratal Street and proceeding to the bullring, led by livestock from the Benavent ranch and riders from Gata and neighboring towns. Following this, release of cows and a bull from the Benavent ranch.
• 22: 00 hours: Dinner in the barracks.
• 22: 00 hours: Night march organized by the GEG starting from its headquarters, Grupo Escolar.
• 23: 00 hours: Performance by URBALIA RURANA in the format ball Celebrating its 35th anniversary. The committee will be distributing mistela to all attendees. Traditional attire is recommended.
• 01: 00 hours: Entrance of 6 bulls and 6 cows from the Fdo. Machancoses ranch. Following this, release of cows and a bull from the Cristian Soler ranch.

Wednesday, August 5th. Senior Citizens' Day

• 08: 00 hours: 8th Awakening by the Quintà 2026 L'ANRAMÀ.
• 12: 00 hours: Solemn mass in thanksgiving for our elders of the town.
• 13: 00 hours: Performance by the LA LLATA Dance Group at the Community Center. The 2026 committee will be handing out vermouth and nuts.
• 13: 30 hours: Bous a banda en el bareto de los toros con el grupo FERRETERIA ROSARIO sponsored by the 2026 commission.
• 14: 00 hours: The committee will host a reception for our senior citizens at the Community Center. Afterwards, we'll dance to the music of Toni Catala.
• 17: 30 hours: Spectacular pilota matches at the Xiquet de Gata trinquet. 1st match of raspall pro2 between Ximo and Ferrando against Favarero and Terrades II, sponsored by Signes Grimalt with a prize of 100 euros. 2nd match of escala i corda Pro1 between Giner and Tomàs II against Francés and Nacho, sponsored by the Sports Department of the Gata de Gorgos Town Hall. Prize of 200 euros sponsored by the 2026 Commission.
• 19: 30 hours: Mass followed by a flower offering.
• 20: 00 hours: Gathering of young people (both children and adults), clubs and the general public in Plaza Nova to participate in the offering to the Holy Christ of Calvary, accompanied by the Colla Montgó Benimussa and the Banda de Coda.
• 00: 00 hours: Festival concert. The GATA MUSIC UNION BAND will once again offer a spectacular concert in the Church Square. Afterwards, the CORDÀ firework display will take place in Enric Valor Park, courtesy of BORREDÀ pyrotechnics. Only those with a CRE card will be allowed entry.

Thursday, August 6th. Day of the Holy Christ

• 08: 00 hours: Despertà in charge of the 2026 commission.
• 10: 00 hours: Mass.
• 11: 00 hours: Parade to collect adult and children festival participants.
• 12: 00 hours: Solemn High Mass in honor of the Holy Christ of Calvary, sung by the Grup Serrillàs choir and sponsored by the 2026 committee. Following the Mass, a fireworks display by BORREDÀ pyrotechnics will take place. Afterwards, a reception will be held at the Community Center, hosted by the 2026 festival committee, where the various prizes will be awarded: floats, traditional Catalan trick-or-treating (truc), street decorations, costumes, etc.
• 19: 30 hours: Mass and solemn procession to accompany the Holy Christ to the Calvary chapel, accompanied by the Colla Montgó Benimussa, Banda de Coda, and Banda Unión Musical de Gata. Following this, a fireworks display by Borredà Pyrotechnics.
