Teulada Moraira has received a visit from two Bolivian artisans from the Chiquitanía region, as part of a work internship focused on the exchange of experiences on female entrepreneurship and sustainable localThe action has been organized by the Equality Department of Municipality of Teulada.
The visit is part of a project promoted by the Fons Valencià per la Solidaritat and co-financed by the Valencian generalitat, whose objective is to strengthen the socio-economic development of women in Bolivian municipalities by promoting sustainable tourism as a tool for economic and social transformation.
Handicrafts and community tourism from the Chiquitanía
The visiting artisans come from the Bolivian municipalities of San Ignacio de Velasco and RoboréBoth are part of community tourism initiatives led by women, projects that seek to generate economic opportunities by enhancing the cultural and natural heritage of their territories.
During their stay in Teulada Moraira, they have been accompanied by representatives of Center for Participation and Sustainable Human Development (CEPAD)In the municipality, they have been able to learn firsthand about municipal policies and various local experiences related to tourism promotion and the boosting of... crafts and the economic revitalization of the territory.
The exchange has allowed Bolivian women entrepreneurs to analyze management models, promotion strategies, and public-private collaboration formulas that could be adapted to their home contexts.
Continuation of a project started in 2025
This meeting continues the exchange that began in 2025, when the Councillor for Equality of the Teulada City Council, rosana caselles, traveled to Bolivia to learn about the project's development firsthand and share lessons learned with local communities.
This visit represents a further step in this two-way cooperation process. While on that previous occasion it was the Valencian institutional delegation that learned about the Bolivian reality, now it is the women entrepreneurs of the Chiquitanía region who have been able to identify good practices applicable to your municipalitiesthus reinforcing a collaborative model based on knowledge sharing.
The Councillor for Equality, Rosana Caselles, has emphasized the importance of this initiative, highlighting that "being able to welcome Bolivian entrepreneurs to our municipality is an opportunity to strengthen the bonds created and show how responsible tourism and crafts can become engines of economic autonomy for women."
Caselles added that "valuing cultural identity and artisanal work not only creates opportunities, but also preserves the history and the soul of the territories."
